They say home is where the heart is and at The Langford in College Station, the residents who call the community home recently showed a lot of heart. Inspired by a program started at their sister community Mirador in Corpus Christi, the resident council at The Langford recently awarded scholarship money for continuing education to six staff members.
Following an inspiring presentation from Mirador’s residents, who recently took their scholarship program on the road to other MRC communities across Texas, The Langford’s resident council sprang into action. They collected donations from their fellow residents and have raised approximately $19,000 in scholarship money so far.
Scholarships awarded for the upcoming fall semester are as follows:
· Allison McMath, Blinn College (Nursing) $700
· Savannah Oliver, Texas A&M (Psychology) $1000
· Jacy Grace Murdock, Sam Houston State (Clinical Psychology, Masters) $1000
· Catherine Anderson, Sam Houston State (Communications) $1000
