The Langford Scholarship Program was developed in May 2021 by a group of residents interested in recognizing the loyal care and service provided by the employees of The Langford and to offer each of them the opportunity to achieve a higher level of education. This program also improves Langford’s hiring and retention of these employees by requiring them to have worked at the Langford for 3 months to qualify and to continue employment here for an additional three months.

 We are pleased to report that the generous donations from Langford residents have resulted in nineteen education support scholarships awarded to Langford employees starting with the Fall 2021 semester and continuing through the Fall 2022 semester. These Scholarships totaled $19,300, with employees attending Blinn College, Texas A&M, or Sam Houston State. This program has proved effective in keeping several experienced employees.

 Residents that are inclined to charitable giving and recognize the tax savings from IRA charitable withdrawals are offered an opportunity to contribute. The Langford employees have become like family, and we want them to have the opportunity for higher education and success. These charitable donations are like the contributions we make to our universities for scholarships, only better, because we personally know the recipients.
